Local singer-songwriter Allison Crowe is about to add 'actress' to her list of talents.
The artist confirmed this week that she will make her film debut in the summer Superman blockbuster Man of Steel, which opens June 14.
Her management is being tight-lipped about the details due to a confidentiality agreement the artist has signed, but have revealed she is set to attend the New York premiere on June 10.
"There's a lot of surprises in the movie, and the film-makers are hoping they'll be revealed first when folks go to the theatre," said Crowe's manager Adrian du Plessis via email.
"The experience of filming on Man of Steel was one of the most fulfilling and insanely exciting... experiences I've ever had - if not the most," said Crowe in a statement.
She also said she was so excited she couldn't sleep the night before filming.
"Honestly, I can think back to it now and still freak out, in the best way ever," she added.
According to what is said to be a leaked call sheet on cosmicbooknews.com, the first scene mentioned features Crowe in the role of a singer in a bar.
The scene is set in "Cassidy's Roadhouse," which many may recognize as Nanaimo's own Cassidy Inn Pub, where the call sheet says filming took place.
The film, directed by Zack Snyder, is being touted as an epic action adventure that follows Superman's journey as he discovers his powers and purpose on earth.
It features big names like Kevin Costner, Diane Lane and Russell Crowe, with Amy Adams as Lois Lane and Henry Cavill in the lead as Clark Kent/Superman.
Crowe's new album Newfoundland Vinyl is slated to launch June 25.
