Hello everyone ![]()
First off I would like to say happy holidays to everybody! This is my favourite time of year. It’s a time for quiet reflection and to gather with family and friends to eat, drink, and, just generally, be merry.
I have been reflecting on this past year, and while there have been some confusing
and frustrating times (such is life), I figured now was the perfect time to say a big THANK YOU to everybody
who has stuck by us and supported us throughout the years, and also to anyone new who may happen by!
Thank you for taking the time! It is truly appreciated, from the
bottom of all of our hearts.
I feel now that everything is truly falling in to place, and I am happy to feel that surge of adrenaline that comes along with the momentum built from playing live shows and having a brand spanking new recording!! YAY! It’s been quite a while, indeed! (okay, I’ll stop with the exclamations, but I really am that excited.)
Tidings (which was recorded in early November) was a blast to create. We had so much fun, (usually I am so stressed while recording), and I hope that you enjoy listening to it as much as I enjoyed recording it.
Let me set the scene for you: It was early November, and there was some worry that it would be somewhat difficult to get that holiday vibe going... Luckily, it felt like mid-January, so that pretty much sealed the proverbial deal. It was winter. There was no escaping it. Hot chocolate. Warm fires crackling. Big woolen scarves. Snowball candles (maybe that’s just me).
We got to the bulk of recording at around 7pm (after some delicious sambal
tofu - I was feeling a bit under the weather, so it helped clear my sinuses... very spicy..) and we were
finished the band tracks in the blink of an eye. After that, the solo songs were performed, and, 'round
midnight, we were on our way! That’s what I love about live recording, it is so much like live performance.
The only thing missing is an audience, but you still get that feeling of, "Oky doky, this is our chance.
We’d better get this right!!". That kind of pressure actually helps me a lot ![]()
Thus, Tidings was born.
Now, we are excited to see our Holiday tv special which we recorded with the NewVI
just a few short weeks ago. They always treat us wonderfully there, and to the NewVI, thank you for everything
you have gone out of your way to do for us. ![]()
So, thank you everybody, again, for your continued support. Without it, we would be lost. It amazes me that there are such wonderful people in the world, and I just want you to know how much I appreciate you. (I have been doing a loooooot of mailing lately!! Thank you for ordering CDs, too!!! They know me very well at the post office now... he he he).
Stay tuned, as I will be staying tuned to you as well ![]()
Take care of yourselves and those you love.
Happy Holidays,
Allison
