GABA stands for "Group Applied Behaviour Analysis". It's
a program working with autistic children of ages 3-6 in a
pre-school setting. (For more on GABA visit www.abacentre.ca/Gaba.aspx
)
GABA-O
is located in Parksville/Qualicum Beach and operates in
partnership with ABA (Applied Behaviour Analysis) Learning Centre,
and the District 69 Family Resource Association (FRA). ABA’s
Director is Dr. Suzanne Jacobsen, and the centres
care for autistic children on Vancouver’s mainland as well as
here on Vancouver Island.
Don't miss this opportunity to sing along with one of our finest
home-grown performers. Allison Crowe has recently returned from an
European tour which included a sensational performance at the John
Lennon Northern Lights Festival in Scotland. At the UK's
"Best New Festival", her audience included members of
John Lennon's family alongside the Queen's Master of Music, Sir
Peter Maxwell Davies. The Scotsman reports: "Canadian
angel Allison Crowe gave one of the weekend's most magical
moments". Earning a standing ovation, "Her rendition of
Lennon's 'In My Life' (almost literally) brought the house
down."
Festival Director Mike Merritt described her performance as
"awesome" and "spine-tingling", adding:
"Allison has put Canada well and truly on the map here!"
This Friday, December 7, follow your map to the corner of
Rutherford Road and Island Highway. Allison Crowe's special
appearance at Nanaimo North's "Pole" is part of her
celebrated multi-city holiday-season "Tidings" tour.
