“The Allison Crowe Show”
Saturday, April 22, 8pm @ Rotary Arts Centre (Unit 101, 5 Park Street, Lower Level City Hall, Corner Brook A2H 2W8)
Corner Brook’s international recording and touring sensation Allison Crowe (http://allisoncrowe.com) is hyper-active this season – clearing snow, writing a book of prose poetry, “Fluttering,” and composing songs for a new album, “Rare Birds” (her 22nd release on Rubenesque Records). Allison (vocals, piano, guitar, fiddle, bodhran), joins Sarah White (mandolin, guitar, vocals), Keelan Purchase (accordion, 12-string guitar, bodhran) & Greg House (percussion) to make a thrilling hybrid of Canadiana, Celtic, jazz, roots, folk, soul and original rock.
Allison Crowe and Band together with stellar guests Emma Peckford and Bridget & Dahlia deliver timeless entertainment in concert.
Emma Peckford’s first-place in MusicNL “NewFound Talent” 2013 search was followed by her topping 2014’s “She’s the One” competition at Ottawa Bluesfest. Since creating her debut single, “Just Breathe”, in Los Angeles, Emma’s performed her own shows and with “Honey Jam” in Toronto, “Feast of Cohen” in St. John’s and “Beary Merry Christmas” here at home. She’s also pursuing higher education at MUN’s Grenfell Campus. (http://www.emmapeckford.ca)
Bridget and Dahlia (Swift/Waller) are known to sing with beautiful guitar-playing and sweet harmonies. Winning Music NL’s 2016 “Newfound Talent” competition earned the duo a spot on the Newfoundland and Labrador Folk Festival main stage, where they melted the hearts of the 10,000 audience members. Their two-track debut disc “Wooden Castles” has received airplay on numerous radio stations across Canada. (https://bridgetdahlia.squarespace.com)
